Emma's guest blog
I’ve asked my wife Emma to write a guest-blog today in order to follow up on Sunday’s sermon from Ephesians 5.22-33, in which I spoke to wives at PCF. I asked Emma to put together a short list of resources that address the biblical roles of women in church and home. She’s come up with a great list – four books and one blog for you to check out.
Here’s Emma:

If you want to take things further…
1. Disciplines of a Godly Woman: Barbara Hughes. Practical, easy to read and comes with study questions to help you think things through for yourself (or with a friend).
2. Rediscovering Biblical Manhood and Womanhood: John Piper and Wayne Grudem. It looks way more intimidating than it actually is. A collection of essays so you can pick and choose what you’re most interested in. Worth it for Piper’s introduction alone.
3. Feminine Appeal: Carolyn Mahaney. A study of what Titus 2 has to say
about Biblical Womanhood. Solidly Biblical and full of practical examples and stories.
4. Girl Talk Blog www.girltalkhome.com. Carolyn Mahaney and her 3 grown up daughters update it daily and use it as a window into their lives and their thoughts and struggles in the Christian life.
5. Keep a Quiet Heart: Elisabeth Elliot. My favourite Christian book of all time! A series of devotions which, while not specifically on the topic of submission, fleshes out a godly Christian life. Written by the widow of Jim Elliot, a missionary who was killed by the people he was called to serve.
