God is alive and well at Harvard

Harvard University

I am happy to report that God has not deserted Harvard University. He has great people there, doing great work. On my day off last week I had the privilege of speaking at DOXA, which is one of the gatherings of the Christian Union at Harvard. My new friend Nick Nowalk is one of the leaders of this group and it was a delight to meet him and see his passion and gifting for student ministry. It was also a thrill to meet a number of students (mostly freshman and sophomores) and to worship Christ with them. It is an awesome thing that these students are willing to come out on a Friday night to praise Jesus and listen to Christian teaching (of course, their evening was just getting started when we closed at 9pm — some of them were on their way to a movie!).

I’m looking forward to reading some blogs Nick has written for the Harvard Ichthus. If you want to read some Christian reflections from within the context of life and ministry at Harvard, check out Nick’s writing here.

I praise God for what he’s doing at Harvard through the work of Nick and many others.

Hey Stephen! Nick just told me how you spoke at Harvard and he said the students really enjoyed having you. Glad you guys made that connection. Great blog you got going here! I’ve just learned how to “subscribe” to blogs and it seems like a decent enough thing to do when I find a good one—so consider me now a ‘subscriber.’
