We're coming up to Easter
Dear PCF,
We’re moving closer to Easter, and over the next two weeks we will re-live the spectacular events of 2000 years ago. These events have changed our lives and have changed the world forever. I hope as we approach Palm Sunday this coming Sunday (March 28) and then Good Friday (April 2) and then Easter Sunday (April 4), you’ll be growing closer to Jesus, and growing in your awareness of what he has done for you. These couple weeks are the high point of the church calendar. Please check out our website for details on our Good Friday service, our Easter Sunrise service (and breakfast to follow) and our Easter Sunday service.
This is an amazingly fruitful time of the year to be speaking gospel words. Other than Christmas, there isn’t a better time to reach out to folks and invite them to church. Many are open to coming on Easter who otherwise won’t come to church. I’m praying that many unchurched people will come to PCF on Easter and hear the gospel. Here are three simple ways you can be involved in reaching out to your non-Christian friends this Easter.
(1) Pray for your friends. Ask God to awaken in them a fresh desire for Jesus. If they are to come to Jesus, God must shine into their hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ (2 Corinthians 4.6)
(2) Bring along a light snack for just after the Easter service. We will have coffee and refreshments, and we’re relying on you all to provide the snacks. The reason we’re offering coffee and refreshments is to make our guests feel welcome and to encourage folks to stay so we can welcome them and get to know them. If you want suggestions of what to bring, contact the church office.
(3) Invite your unchurched friends along to the Good Friday service. Or invite them to the Easter Service and then to your house for lunch afterward. That way, you can talk about what was said at the service.
Praise God for raising Jesus from the dead! Because of Jesus’ resurrection, we have a solid, enduring hope for the future.
Preparing for Easter with you,
Stephen
