Welcome...
...and thank you for your interest in Pepperell Christian Fellowship (PCF). We've tried to answer some questions you may have about PCF on this page. If you want to know more about us, there is more information on the rest of this web site, or please call (978-433-6360) or email us.
Our Mission:
The first thing we want to tell you about us is why we believe PCF is here, as stated in our mission statement: We exist to be a Jesus-centered community in Pepperell, speaking gospel words and doing gospel works to display the worth of God to the world.(1) Our Worship Service
Our worship service starts at 10:30 am and ends around 11:45. Dress is casual and comfortable. We start our worship with a time of singing together; our music includes both contemporary music and hymns. After this, one of our elders leads us in prayer, and then Pastor Stephen delivers the sermon. On the first Sunday of the month, we share Communion.
After the service, we encourage people to visit with each other while they enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack, and many do stay and chat for quite a while. The pastor and one or more of the elders are almost always available after the service for counsel and prayer.
(2) Location & Parking
Pepperell Christian Fellowship is located minutes from downtown Pepperell at 17 Main Street (Rt 113), Pepperell, MA 01463. The Sunday service is on the second floor in the rear building. There is ample parking behind that building and there is overflow parking at the library next door. Parking is also allowed on Main Street. You can enter either by the rear door from the parking lot and follow the signs to the sanctuary, or by the main door on the deck, which leads directly to the sanctuary.
(3) Child Care
We provide nursery care for children 5 and younger during the worship service. The nursery is located on the lower level (the back door entrance). For children between ages 5 and 7 we offer Children’s Church during the sermon.
(4) What We Believe
We are a Bible-believing church in the evangelical Protestant tradition.
As evangelical Christians, we are happy to allow a range of beliefs at PCF about certain things (for example, you’ll find that folks at PCF take different positions on the presence of supernatural sign gifts for today, or questions concerning the last things). These beliefs we keep in an “open hand.” We want our members to take Biblically informed positions, but we recognize that good Christians can disagree on these and other non-essential issues. On these things, we agree to disagree.
However, there are other points of teaching and belief that we hold in a “closed hand.” These are the core beliefs of historic, orthodox Christianity. These are things the Bible is very clear on. Consequently, these are truths we prize and upon which we build our lives. We keep these doctrines in a “closed hand.” They are not up for discussion. We hold them passionately and firmly. Among these beliefs are the inspiration and inerrancy of Scripture, the doctrine of the Trinity, the deity of Jesus, justification by faith, and the personal, visible return of Jesus at the end of time. If you’d like to see more of the biblical teaching we hold in the “closed hand,” you can click over to our full Affirmation of Faith.
(5) What Else?
In addition to our Sunday worship service, we also offer Sunday school for both children and adults at 9 am. There is also a lot going on at PCF at other times: women’s studies (Tuesday morning and Tuesday evening), a men’s study (Tuesday evening), Youth Group (Tuesday evening), retreats, Life Groups meeting at several homes on various nights of the week, Vacation Bible School, and various ministries that reach out to our church community and those around us. We also support several ministries and missionaries, both locally and internationally. We invite you to browse our website and learn more about us. You may also call the office for more information (978-433-6360).
(6) PCF Connection-information sessions for visitors
Periodically we have an informal get-together after the worship service for anyone interested in learning more about PCF. This is a chance for you to meet with Pastor Stephen and a few other members of PCF, to hear about who we are and what we are doing, and to ask any questions you might have—and also to share some pizza. Please watch the website or call the church office (978-433-6360) for more information about the PCF Connection and when the next one is scheduled.
(7) Membership
There is no need for you to become a member or to make any kind of commitment to PCF in order for you to attend worship, go to a Sunday school class, or to participate in our fellowship groups. If you do want to know more about membership at PCF, you may want to read our membership commitment.
